- Explore and prototype concepts related to multi-agentAI systems, such as agent interaction, coordination, and task decomposition.
- Investigate reasoning, planning, or decision-making behaviours in agent-basedAI systems.
- Support analysis of efficiency,scalability, or robustness in AI systems involving multiple interacting components.
- Contribute to exploratory research on topicssuchas memory mechanisms, uncertainty handling, or lightweight model orchestration, depending on project focus.
- Assist with designing simple experiments, evaluations, or simulations to understand agent behaviour.
- Document findings and present insights to technical colleagues at the end of the placement.
- Currently undertaking an undergraduate,master’s, or doctoraldegree in Computer Science, ArtificialIntelligence, Machine Learning, Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a relateddiscipline.
- Familiarity with machine learning or AI concepts, such as neural networks, optimisation, or algorithmic reasoning.
- Experience with programming, typically in Python (or similar languages), and basic software development practices.
- Interest in advancedAItopicssuchasagent-based systems, reasoning models, or autonomous systems.
- Must be at least 18 years of age at the time of application.
- Must have the right to work in the UK.
- Must return to education after the programme ends (students graduating before or during the programme are not eligible).
- Prior exposure to multi-agent systems, reinforcement learning, or large language models.
- Experience with research projects, coursework, or open-source contributions related to AI or machine learning.
- Interest in applying AI to scientific,technical, or real-world problem domains.
